MITZVAH — SPEAK TRUTH TO MAN

The ninth Commandment:

לֹֽא־תַעֲנֶ֥ה בְרֵעֲךָ֖ עֵ֥ד שָֽׁקֶר

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor....”
Exodus 20:16

And speak truth to others.

אֵ֥לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּֽעֲשׂ֑וּ דַּבְּר֤וּ אֱמֶת֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵ֔הוּ אֱמֶת֙ וּמִשְׁפַּ֣ט שָׁל֔וֹם שִׁפְט֖וּ בְּשַׁעֲרֵיכֶֽם

“These are the things that ye shall do: speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor….”
Zechariah 8:16.

MITZVAH — THE TRUTH MUST BE TAUGHT

BHSוְשִׁנַּנְתָּם לְבָנֶיךָ וְדִבַּרְתָּ בָּם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ בְּבֵיתֶךָ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ בַדֶּרֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ וּבְקוּמֶךָ

"You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

The command is to instruct and teach future generations in God’s truth — to be a conduit of light to those following behind.
