YHVH's LOVE FOR YOU

The Unwavering Love of YHVH: A Covenantal Examination

We will bring to life the covenant meaning behind the idea "God Loves You" using seven scriptural passages from the Torah, the Writings and the Prophets.

These seven verses demonstrate the love of יְהֹוָ֥ה YHVH is not a passive emotion but an active, covenantal commitment demonstrated through divine deliverance, steadfast faithfulness, and electing grace.

We examine how Torah verses reveals God’s love as His choosing grace (Chen), covenantal steadfastness (Hesed), and mighty redemption and Salvation (Geulah V'Yeshua) — attributes that persist “to a thousand generations” for those who honor His covenant

SEVEN VERSES ESTABLISH THE COVENANT OF LOVE

The seven scriptural passages from the Torah, Writings and the Former Prophets demonstrate the love of YHVH is not a passive emotion but an active, covenantal commitment demonstrated through divine deliverance, steadfast faithfulness, and electing grace. This analysis examines how Torah reveals God’s love as choosing grace (chen), covenantal steadfastness (hesed), and mighty redemptive Salvation—attributes that persist “to a thousand generations” for those who honor His covenant.

I. The Faithful God Keeps Covenant to a Thousand Generations

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.” Deuteronomy 7:7-9

The Hebrew text emphasizes יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ (YHVH your God) is הָאֵל הַנֶּאֱמָן—the God who is faithful (ne’eman). This faithfulness is not arbitrary; it is conditioned upon the covenant relationship:

.לְאֹהֲבָיו וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי מִצְוֹתָיו to those who love him and keep his commandment

YHVH’s love is thus reciprocal yet initiating: He first loves and chooses, then commands those chosen to remain faithful in Love. The thousand-generation promise (אֶלֶף דּוֹר) dwarfs human memory, establishing an eternal horizon for covenant fidelity.
